Jonathan and Martha are two worms who live on opposite sides of a tree. One day a pear drops from the tree, and they both start eating it. Then they meet in the middle and then decide to fight. The get so twisted up that they become stuck together, and then they have to learn to share! A while later they get attacked by a big bird who bites their tails off and separates them. By this time they love each other and want to stay together and share!
I LOVE this book. This images are very reminiscent of “A Very Hungry Caterpillar.” The pages are also really think and durable, perfect for a toddler who is learning to turn pages and handle books. Some of the pages also have shapes cutout, for example Jonathan and Martha share a watermelon, and the page is a giant watermelon. This is a sweet book about friendship, sharing, and love!
