This is the story of the 3 little pigs told from the viewpoint of the big bad wolf. As his story goes, he was trying to bake a cake for his grandmother’s birthday, and needed sugar. So he went to his neighbor’s house to borrow some. His huffing and puffing was a result of the fact that he had a cold. When he sneezed the weak houses fell down, accidentally killing the pig inside. Of course he couldn’t just let a dead pig go to waste, so he ate him. This happened again with the second pig, and by the time the wolf got to the third pig’s house, the police were on their way. The rest is history.
What a fantastic book. Most little kids know the story of the three little pigs, and will get a kick out of the changes found in this book. I really like the tone of the wolf in his storytelling, and how he makes it seem ridiculous that he could actually be guilty. I am also a big fan of the illustrations. They aren’t bright and colorful, but dull and almost sinister. It works so well with the overall tone of the story. A must read for preschoolers!
