Harry is leaving the house, and his dog George at home alone. He makes sure to tell George to be good. George says he will be…that is until he sees a cake, he loves cake, or when he sees a cat, he loves to chase cats, or when he sees dirt, which he loves to dig in. Can George manage to be good, or will Harry scream “Oh No, George?!?”
As you can see from the cover picture, the illustrations are simple and bright, and can I mention the eyes? How could a kid possibly be mad at that face. I love that George is so playful. I also love the special friendship that he and Harry have in this book. It demonstrates that a good friendship can make us act in different ways to make the other person/dog happy. I think this is a great book for toddlers because the language and the pictures are easy to understand. I also dig the repetition of the title throughout the story. George is just a fun loving character that will make kids laugh.
