Nugget is a Minnow, and Fang is a shark and they are the best of friends. They do everything together, until nugget starts school. In school he is taught that sharks are bad and dangerous, and that he cannot be friends with a shark. Nugget didn’t want to hang out with his shark friend any more and Fang was heartbroken. He tried his hardest to convince all the minnows that he was safe and fun to be around, but the minnows would not give in. That is until one day all the little fish got stuck in a net. As they faced their own demise Fang was busy using his big sharp teeth to get them out of the net! And everyone lived happily ever after.
I loved the goofy faces on the illustrations. How could you really dislike the lovable faces of Fang and Nugget. There were bright colors although the majority were shades of blue (water and all.) One of the reasons I really liked this book was that it really wrenched at my emotions. I felt really sad when Fang was sad, and scared, when the minnows were caught. Then I felt super happy, when everybody became friends. I like that this book teaches about friendship and that people (or fish) of all shapes, sizes, and colors can be friends. My only problem with this one is that some of the words are really hard to read with the dark blue water and black text. All in all, kudos!
